Ryan Clayton obtained the "secret password" to gain entry to a "Friends of Abe" meeting in New York City, then used a Q & A session to embarrass O'Keefe in front of dozens of his devoted followers. Clayton was put in a strangle hold as O'Keefe's fanatics screamed in approval, instructing the mob to attack another infiltrator named Jason Charter, and take away cameras that were recording the assault.
If not for the violence, the headline from the night might have been that O'Keefe bragged in his remarks that he had received a personal phone call from his financial benefactor, Donald Trump. A previous sting involving Clayton and The Undercurrent caught O'Keefe's operative Allison Maass offering to pay money for violent acts on Trump's inauguration day.
Ryan Grim has been covering the feud for The Huffington Post, and, after joining TYT as a commentator, he had the opportunity to interview Clayton. This was the first time they had met.
