as posted by the channelA video tape surfaced today showing the ex-wife of President Trump's Labor Secretary nominee appearing on the The Oprah Winfrey Show, in disguise, to talk about being physically abused by him during their marriage. Andrew Puzder's confirmation hearing was supposed to be Thursday Feb. 16th, but as allegations of domestic violence were added to a pattern of labor exploitation, violation of labor laws, and the inadvertent hiring of an undocumented worker in his home, CNN reported today that Puzder is expected to withdraw.
TYT contributor Ryan Grim ( ) was reporting live to The Young Turks Facebook page when a sixth Republican U.S. Senator, Rob Portman of Ohio, told him he was on the fence about whether to vote. Grim took questions from the The Young Turks audience, which was shrewd enough to point out that Sen. Rob Portman (ROH) who had voted for an equally flawed Education Secretary nominee in Betsy DeVos, had received $51,000 in donations from the DeVos family. NOTEThis report, including Sen. Portman's comments was recorded on 2/14/17, the day before the video from The Oprah Winfrey Show was released publicly by Marianne Levine and Timothy Noah of Politico, and, before CNN reported that Puzder is expected to withdraw his nomination.
