Women and allies march on the White House to protest the Donald Trump's Global Gag Rule, which prohibits organizations that receive U.S. global health assistance from providing from from providing abortions or even mentioning or counseling patients about abortions.

Opponents of the Gag Rule argue that this policy change, which was also enacted by President George W. Bush, threatens healthcare access for millions of people in need of protection against infectious diseases, such as Zika and Ebola, and increase maternal and child mortality rates. The Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE) projects that this decision will cause 6.5 million unintended pregnancies and more than 2 million unsafe abortions.

Organizers say this order is "the first of many attempts the Trump Administration will make to strip away our sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice."
