4:29Now PlayingThe DNC Unity Reform Commission amended and voted upon a list of recommended reforms, including one that would see "super-delegates" be cut by 60% for the next presidential primary contest, with most of them required to vote for the candidate who won their state's primary or caucus.
TYT contributor Ryan Grim was on hand as the commission met for the 5th and final time in Washington DC. During the first several hours of the two-day meeting at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel, the 19 commissioners took a series of votes on recommended reforms that will be sent to the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee, which in turn will make recommendations to the leaders of the Democratic National Committee.
Nomiki Konst, who is a commissioner and also a reporter for TYT Politics, explained that an agreement to reduce the number of super-delegates was reached during the 2016 convention. One issue about which there was not agreement was whether or not independents and Republicans should be able to vote in Democratic presidential primaries.
