Trudeau didn’t have to make this open nomination pledge. I suspect most Canadians don’t care if a leader meddles in a nomination race. But that’s beside the point now. Trudeau made this pledge. In fact, he went out of his way to be clear that he wanted complete open nominations. It’s written in bold on his website.
But has he lived up to his promise? By my read, there have been at least 13 "open nomination" races with preselected winners.
If Justin Trudeau is willing to lie about this, what else is he willing to lie about?
