With a Twitter attack on an American tourist attending the Bluesfest in Ottawa because of his Confederate flag shorts, Brian Lilley of TheRebel.Media.ca says it's time for a reality check on this flag controversy.

How far do we have to go in re-writing our history to remove any hint of racism from our past? The racist shooter in South Carolina that killed 9 people said he wanted to start a race war but those closest to the victims of this tragic event have refused to give him what he wanted. As outsiders, we should try to honour their wishes and do the same.
