5:02Now PlayingBrian Lilley of TheRebel.media reports: Tom Mulcair wants you to know he's a real moderate and not an old-fashioned crazy socialist.
But things got uncomfortable for Mulcair this week when a group of his lefty friends and supporters called for an overthrow of the capitalist system. They unveiled something called the Leap Manifesto. It calls for abolishing capitalism and fossil fuels while broadening "the social safety net" and admitting more refugees.
When one of their own grassroots supporters sincerely asked how they could afford this, the panel -- comprised of elite folks like David Suzuki and Naomi Klein -- just laughed. (Watch and see!)
One of its platforms is, "If you don't want it in your own backyard, we can't do it." What? Everyone has a veto now? So what if we... don't want to implement this manifesto? Oh, that must be different.
Brian takes a look at what they want any future government to do and explains how crazy it is.
