As Lilley pointed out earlier, what Trudeau means by "infrastructure" isn't what most Canadian voters think of, things like roads and bridges.
No, 2/3 of Trudeau's plan involves social engineering: "green" (and more costly) energy and what he calls "social infrastructure: childcare and affordable housing." He's not even talking about building day care centres and old folks homes, either, but about social spending.
He's been cagey about all this but finally admitted it today. In reality, his plan will cause massive structural deficits.
