The first plane of refugees arrived and the Liberals had no problems using the occasion for a publicity stunt.
One thing that they didn’t tell you was that the refugees are privately sponsored and the majority of the applications were probably already in progress thanks to the Conservative government.
The party included token refugee families, snaps of politicians shaking their hands and promptly posted the images to Twitter for RT’s and hearts. Did they ever stop to think that the sponsors of the newly arrived refugees were family members waiting to reunite with their kin? The refugees entering Canada wasn’t about those families for the liberals – it was a photo op. But maybe this time Justin will land a Vogue cover!
