Lauren Beene, MD, is a general pediatrician practicing in the Cleveland area. She is co-founder and Executive Director of Ohio Physicians for Reproductive Rights and is a leader of the non-partisan grassroots coalition Protect Choice Ohio. Dr. Beene is concerned that abortion restrictions will cause a medical crisis in Ohio, and will disproportionately affect the most vulnerable populations, including her teenage patients and people of color. Dr. Beene and Protect Choice Ohio are working diligently toward protecting reproductive freedom via a citizen-initiated constitutional amendment on the 2023 ballot.
