In August 2022, Amanda Zurawski had complications in her pregnancy and needed an abortion. But the law in the state of Texas, where she resides, would not allow her to have an abortion until she was sick enough to have her life saved. Amanda had a stillborn birth in the 2nd trimester of her pregnancy and she nearly died because she was denied an abortion.
