Our culture can encourage a certain risk aversion and deemphasize the importance of learning from failure. However St. Paul encourages us, "Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up" (Gal. 6.9).
The spiritual life invites us to effort, perseverance, and humility, and true success requires more than just participation; it necessitates striving, self-control, and a genuine commitment to growth in virtue.
