A new ship called the Mayflower will set sail in September 2020 to mark the 400th anniversary of the original Mayflower voyage in 1620, but this time with a 21st century twist. IBM and marine research organization Promare have created the Mayflower Autonomous Ship, which will use an 'AI Captain' to self-navigate across the Atlantic from Plymouth, UK to Plymouth, Massachusetts with no humans on board.
