McCarthy responded, "I don't know who the president called, but the president is an American citizen, he can find out any facts that are going on..."
12 days after the election was called for Joe Biden, President Trump still has not conceded and continues to lob baseless attacks on the voting system, claiming without evidence that there was voter fraud in the election.
So far his legal challenges have fallen flat. But Republican leaders in Congress continue to defend his efforts.
