Robot drones could be the builders of the future, 3D-printing new structures as they fly, according to researchers who were inspired by wasps and bees.

The project was led by Prof. Mirko Kovac at Imperial College London / Empa in Switzerland and was co-developed by Prof. Robert Stuart-Smith at University of Pennsylvania and UCL. Co-investigators include, Stefan Leutenegger, Vijay Pawar, Richard Ball, Chris Williams and Paul Shepherd, and their research teams at UCL, University of Bath, University of Pennsylvania, Queen Mary University of London, and Technical University of Munich (TUM)
