The largest fancy vivid blue diamond ever to come to auction – the Golconda Blue – will be sold by Christie's in Geneva, Switzerland, May 14.

Weighing 23.24 carats, the pear-shaped gemstone was mined from Golconda, India, more than 300 years ago. The diamond is mounted in a contemporary ring by the Parisian designer JAR.

Christie’s estimates it could sell for $35 million to $50 million.
