Whatley, a member of MAGA, was asked about the social media post plus if he had a favorite player. He couldn’t name one. His opponent, democrat Roy Cooper, is an avid Canes fan. The reporter was pulled over minutes later and Whatley, after speaking with a staffer, said it was Jaccob Slavin.
