51:35Now PlayingFlock cameras are pitched as the thing standing between you and stolen cars, missing kids, and chaos in the streets. So I actually ran the numbers. The entire upside — the portion of your insurance bill that exists because cars get stolen — works out to about six dollars a year. That's the price tag on letting the government log where you go and who you're with. And that six bucks is the generous number, because the one study that makes Flock look good came from areas that also flooded the zone with extra policing.
Amber Alert recoveries? Flat at roughly 45 a year, before Flock and after Flock. The Alert Auto partnership launched in 2021 and the line didn't move. Most missing-kid cases are runaways and family abductions — a license plate reader is useless for a 15-year-old who left on foot.
Also on this one: Bessent says there's nothing "magical" about $40 trillion and the administration has a very discreet plan they can't tell you about. Trump quietly lifts the ground beef tariffs, which is either central planning executed to perfection or the tariffs never worked. Fauci gets a legal defense fund while the rest of us pay our own way through a prosecution. Jon Ossoff lays out Trump's April 8th stock buys, the "great time to buy" post, and the tariff cancellation three hours and forty-one minutes later. And the Supreme Court's mail-in voting ruling exposes a system where time is always on the side of whoever exceeds their authority first.
Plus the debut of a new segment: Tales From The Flock — this week, a KCPD officer charged for allegedly running the Flock system more than 2,300 times to stalk his ex.
