As rents skyrocket in the Boston area, artists struggle to find a place to grow in the area.... Quiet Desperation EMF covers the trials and tribulations of eccentric local creative types persisting in a difficult economic climate and reveals the stories of musicians, visual artists, filmmakers.....
Located in Cambridge Massachusetts the EMF Building houses a huge artist collective that features a radio station (WEMF) forty jam rooms, three recording studios, a couple of art galleries, some salons, two video production houses, and much much more. Over the Summer of 2014 Steve Onderick captured the magic of the EMF Building.
This is the amazing story of a group of creative types brought together through many different reasons upon this magical building to somehow form a community in the mists of the many happenings going on at the EMF. The magic of a man named Alvan Long as told by friends and family... And the undying spirit of the arts.
Quiet Desperation is a collective of cinematographers documenting the spirit of fighting to be an artist in the Greater Boston area. Please share!
