In this Power Brief, I talk about Friday’s big news that California Gov. Gavin Newsom wants to prevent the premature closure of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant, the last nuclear reactor in the state. That’s good news, but it comes at about the same time as the one-year anniversary of the closure of the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, New York and at the same time that top Democrats are trying to prevent the closure of the Palisades Nuclear Plant in Michigan.
