When I visited the border in Yuma, Arizona last year, I saw the problems causing the crisis in real time. Here are the facts: The number of migrants crossing the border is at an all-time high. The physical barriers in the most highly-populated crossing zones have huge gaps. Border Patrol is utterly demoralized. And the Migrant Protection Act is no longer in effect.
Does the Biden administration seem to care about any of this? No. I will take immediate action to address what’s causing the border crisis and this humanitarian nightmare on day one of my presidency.
