“People May Not Get Their IRS Refund Checks This Year” As A Result Of The Shutdown - Rep. Horsford

The current government shutdown is now officially the longest one in the history of the United States and his having an impact all over America.

During a protest where government workers demanded the shutdown end, Rep. Steven Horsford reminded everyone how vital the federal employees' jobs are. He also shared that “people may not get their IRS refund checks this year” as a result of the shutdown.

The current U.S. government shutdown is entering its 23rd day and on Saturday it set a new record for the longest shutdown in U.S. history. It all started when President Trump refused to approve a budget unless it included $5.7 billion to fund a wall along the border with Mexico, one of his key pledges on the campaign trail. Democrats are bitterly opposed to his plan and they claim it would not solve the country's immigration issues. Both sides have been deadlocked since with around 800,000 federal workers caught in the middle. Under normal circumstances, most of them would have been paid on Friday but they have now missed their paycheck. Read more
