Voting Matters, Period. One of the first witnesses was my friend Eva Paterson, President of the Equal Justice Society in Oakland, California. She summed up the problem in just a few powerful minutes.
Kristen Clarke, President and Executive Director of the National Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law detailed how the Trump administration downplays hate crimes.
And then there was Candace Owens, who was invited by the GOP to the hearing. She brought her grandfather there in what some say was an attempt to use him as a prop.
