9:23Now PlayingThere has been an arrest in the arson of three black churches in the span of 10 days in one Parish in Louisiana.
The man was identified as Holden Matthews a white male, aged, 21. He is the son of a sheriff's deputy in St. Landry's Parish. Authorities have not labeled these fire as hate crimes. However, Matthews was active in Facebook groups that focused on black metal and heathenism and Nordic religious beliefs, according to posts seen by CNN. There is also a possible connection between black metal music and church burnings in other parts of the world. The churches are St. Mary Baptist Church in Port Barre, Greater Union Baptist Church in Opelousas and Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in the same town.
