10:26Now PlayingThe new jobs numbers came out today and even though 225,000 new jobs were created in January the unemployment rate edged up to 3.6% from a 50-year low of 3.5% as more people entered the labor force in search of work.
The Black unemployment rate has gone up to 6.0% and the participation rate dropped down to 62.6. These numbers do not represent what Donald Trump said in his State of the Union address.
Gbenga Ajilore, Senior Economist at the Center for American Progress spoke with Roland Martin about the latest jobs numbers and Trump proclaiming African American unemployment is at its "lowest levels in history."
