Holding defeated Democrat Linda Coleman by less than six percentage points in 2018 despite it being a wave election for Democrats, who gained 40 seats and took control of the House of Representatives.
Now Holding faces 3 challengers, including Monika Johnson-Hostler, a school board member and executive director of the NC Coalition Against Sexual Assault. She has spent the last 20 years advocating for thousands of women and children.
