On Monday morning, U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams said, "I want America to understand this week it's going to get bad."
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo detailed his plan to deal with the pandemic and how the state is working to secure medical supplies. During his remarks, Cuomo complained about having to bid against other states for medical supplies.
He told reporters, "This is not the way to do it, this is ad hoc, I'm competing with other states, I'm bidding up other states on the prices."
Pushing back against how Donald Trump is addressing the medical supply shortage Cuomo said, “Let the federal government put in place the federal Defense Production Act. It does not nationalize any industry. All it does is say to a factory ‘you must produce this quantity'" of medical supplies.
