As a result of the risk, the majority of large public school districts have chosen to transition to online learning. Some have already returned to in-person classes and they are seeing an increase in cases of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, colleges and universities are consistently altering their plans and opting for online fall semesters.
Two major college conferences — the Big Ten and Pac-12 announced Tuesday they were canceling college football and other fall sports because of the coronavirus.
Pediatrician, Dr. Irene Mathieu spoke with Roland Martin about the imminent danger the coronavirus presents to the nation's school aged and college students.
