Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas faces charges of of conspiracy to commit a felony and injury to a Confederate monument in excess of $1,000 stemming from her role in protests that also led to a demonstrator being critically injured when a statue was torn down.
But the madness does not stop there. Other Black lawmakers and officials are finding themselves on the wrong side of charges, warrants and other outrageous claims in Portsmouth.
Dr. Mark Whitaker, former councilman and Associate Pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church and Attorney Don Scott of the Virginia House of Delegates who is questioning the treatment of State Senator Louise Lucas spoke with Roland Martin during Monday's edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered about the actions being taken against African American lawmakers in what looks like a struggle for power in Portsmouth.
