7:58Now PlayingTo sum this up briefly, the Trump campaign's "vicious assault" on Black voters "shows the gross disrespect of the Republican Party."
On Saturday, Roland Martin, Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilcrist and MSNBC's Ali Velshi discussed the insidious attack on Black voters who cam out in mass numbers during the 2020 presidential election to push Donald Trump out of office.
One of the most stunning developments in the wake of Trump and his campaign's attempt to invalidate the votes of African Americans is the silence from the GOP and Black Republicans.
Roland proclaimed on MSNBC, "If any Republican continues to remain silent, we will remember every single one of you and when it comes to 2022 and 2024. You're going to pay a price because Black people and others are not going to remain silent" about this blatant disregard for the African American electorate.
Despite all of the African Americans who spoke at the 2020 Republican National Convention, Roland said, "They have never wanted to compete for our votes, what they want to do is disenfranchise us."
As a result of their silence and their apparent indifference to the Black vote, Roland said, Republicans of 2020 are no different than the Dixiecrats in the 50's and the 60's who disenfranchised Black people all across the South."
