During their discussion Dr. Haynes said that "Black continues to rescue America."
It was Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman who led a riotous mob away from the Senate chambers during the insurrection and it was African American voters who helped push Donald Trump out of office after 74 million people voted for him in the 2020 election by helping then former Vice-President Joe Biden amass more than more than 80 million votes, the most votes any presidential candidate has ever received in the history of the United States.
It was also Black voters who rallied behind Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to victory in the Georgia Senate runoff election helping Democrats regain control of the U.S. Senate.
