During Thursday's edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered, Dr. Greg Carr dissected the case for reparations for African Americans.
Dr. Carr told viewers, ""he last 500 years we have been wounded and some have been wounded so deeply that we look to these people or to the people who now identify with whiteness to evoke James Baldwin for relief as if they owe us."
The Howard professor later added the road the reparations has to start with "truth and reconciliation", but unfortunately, according to Carr, there hasn't been a truth and reconciliation commission involving African people anywhere on the globe that has actually worked.
Dr. Carr said slavery impacted people of African descent so deeply that "we can't even look at ourselves and confess to the depth of the wounding of enslavement ..."
