4:51Now PlayingIn Massachusetts -- A conservative education advocacy group filed a federal civil rights complaint against a local school district hosting safe spaces that excluded white students.
The Parents Defending Education complaint says Wellesley Public Schools is violating its white student's civil rights by inviting its Asian-American, Black, and brown students to attend affinity spaces designed for members of historically marginalized groups to "come together in a spirit of mutual support and understanding of shared experiences."
The invite specifically stated the gathering was not for students who identify only as white. The concerned parent's gripe also alleges a form of racial discrimination prohibited under the 14th Amendment.
