15:55Now PlayingIn a unanimous decision, the NCAA lost its case asking to limit some compensation for student-athletes.
The Supreme court ruled the NCAA was violating antitrust laws by capping education-related gifts and benefits student-athletes can receive.
The justices sided with a group of former college athletes who claimed the NCAA rules were unfair and violated federal laws designed to promote competition.
Students can continue to receive educational benefits like computers, lab equipment, and internships from the schools they play. But the ruling does not decide whether they can be paid salaries.
