It's been 20 years since the first U.S. troops set foot in Afghanistan in starting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Earlier today, President Joe Biden stood firm on the decision to pull troops from the war-torn country.
Ever since the U.S. withdrawal, thousands of Afghanis rushed the airport attempting to flee Taliban control. Some so desperate, they clung on to the wheels of airplanes before dropping to their deaths.
Despite the horrific scene and what some are calling a hasty withdrawal, President Biden told the nation is stands "squarely behind" his decision to withdraw U.S. combat forces from Afghanistan.
