There are fourteen eligible candidates who are bidding for the seat, former Mayor Kasim Reed is the most prominent name on the list.
However, City Council President Felicia Moore, council-members Andre Dickens, Antonio Brown, and attorney Sharon Gay lead the polls.
Demographic shifts in Atlanta's population could also have an interesting impact on the mayoral election. As a result of population shifts the city could elect its first white mayor since 1974.
Voters will head to the polls on November 2.
