3:57Now PlayingThe judge in the Kyle Rittenhouse case has dropped the misdemeanor gun charge.
Judge Bruce Schroeder dismissed one of seven counts after the defense argued Rittenhouse's AR-15 was longer than the illegal length of 16 inches, thus making it legal for the teen to have the gun in Wisconsin.
In closing arguments today, the defense says the victim deserved to be killed because of his actions, but the prosecution argued that Rittenhouse was not acting in self-defense when he committed the crimes.
Rittenhouse killed 2 men and gravely injured another during anti-racism protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 25, 2020.
