On that day, one year ago, thousands of Trump supporters rushed into the U.S capitol after he made false claims that the election was rigged.
And despite the apparent assault on democracy, several GOP lawmakers say the people involved with the events on January 6th, 2021, had nothing to do with their party.
According to a NORAC Poll, only 39 percent of adults believe the events on January 6th were extremely violent.
But 87 percent of Democratic adults say the events were very violent or extremely violent.
President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are expected to speak on the anniversary of the tragic events.
During Monday's White House Press Briefing, Jen Psaki said the president will speak about what really happened the day thousands tried to overthrow democracy.
More than 700 people were arrested for the insurrection, but the investigation is ongoing. More than 30 of those arrests were in California.
