as posted by the channelA federal judge rejected a plea agreement that would have averted a hate crimes trial for the man convicted of murdering Ahmaud Arbery.
Late last night, federal prosecutors negotiated the agreement with Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory, who are serving life in prison without the possibility of parole for Arbery's murder.
However, Arbery's parents denounced the proposed deal for Travis McMichael, and the judge proceeded with plans to summon potential jurors next week.
William "Roddie" Bryan -- who is serving life in prison with the possibility of parole for shooting video of the murder -- was not mentioned in the deal.
Lee Merritt, one of the Arbery family attorneys and former federal prosecutor Glenn Ivey spoke with Roland Martin during Monday's edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered about the latest developments in the Arbery case.
