as posted by the channelBlack Farmers across the nation face further challenges as some say they are dealing with collection notices instead of the promised debt relief offered by the federal government.
In January of 2021, The U.S Department of Agriculture said there would be a temporary suspension of past-due debt collection and foreclosures for distressed direct loan borrowers due to the economic hardship imposed by the pandemic.
However, Black Farmers say they are still receiving notices for foreclosure.
Earlier this month, USDA released this 2-minute video addressing the notices.
The Center for Public Integrity reports in 2021; farmers repaid about 538-thousand dollars to the USDA from February to November despite the suspension.
