Robinson was on a birthday celebration with a group of friends in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, when she died. Robinson's family has sought information about how their daughter died 24 hours after arriving in Mexico.
A viral video showed what appears to be Robinson being beaten by a woman in a hotel room. Robinson's friends initially told her parents she died of alcohol poisoning; however,
The Mexican Secretariat of Health's autopsy report doesn't mention alcohol. It found she suffered "severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation." and shows that it took about 15 mins between injury and death.
Hundreds gathered to show their respects on Saturday for Shanquella Robinson's funeral at Macedonia Baptist Church.
