The Buffalo Bills were playing the Cincinnati Bengals when Damar Hamlin went in to tackle Bengals wide receiver, Tee Higgins. Hamlin stood up and, within seconds, collapsed with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter.
Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest and remains in critical condition. His heartbeat was restored on the field before he was transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further treatment. Hamlin is currently sedated.
Hamlin is a second-year six-round pick from the University of Pittsburgh. The Bills drafted Hamlin in 2021.
