Rep. Mike Collins blamed Buttigieg for trying to diversify the construction field, which is currently 87% white, according to the bureau of labor statistics. Buttigieg has tried increasing transportation-related jobs for lower-income communities of color to bridge the ever-growing wealth gap.
Buttigieg said this at a National Association Of Counties Conference last month.
Collins and 10 GOP representatives co-sponsored a resolution calling on Buttigieg to step down.
