26:32Now PlayingIf removing equality in higher education wasn't enough, conservative activist Edward Blum is trying to stop grants for Black Women.
Blum, who was instrumental in the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision against affirmative action in collegiate admissions, is suing the Fearless Fund. The Fearless Fund is an Atlanta-based venture capital fund launched by Arian Simone, Ayana Parsons, and actress Keshia Knight Pulliam to award $20,000 in grants, digital tools, and mentorship opportunities to Black women entrepreneurs in partnership with Mastercard.
Blum alleges that the program violates Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which prohibits racial bias in private contracts because the grant excludes white and Asian American applicants.
The CEO of Arian Simone and the General Partner, Ayana Parsons of the Fearless Fund, are joining me to discuss what is going on with the Fearless Fund lawsuit.
