Louisiana is battling for a second Black-majority congressional map to reflect the demographics from the 2020 census. It's up to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to decide if Republicans are delaying redrawing the maps so they will have no choice but to use the unconstitutional map for the 2024 election. Cliff Albright, the Co-Founder of Black Voters Matter, will be here for that discussion.
Tomorrow is the last day for early voting in Louisiana's election, including the gubernatorial primary. Dr. Shawn Wilson will be here to discuss why many say he has an uphill battle to become the state's next governor.
Grassroots voting organizations are starting to hit the road to empower black voters. Melanie Campbell, the President and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, is here to tell us about the "Power of the Ballot - We Will Not Be Erased: Vote 2024!!" National Campaign and Florida Tour.
While the overall unemployment rate remained steady, the unemployment for black men increased, and for black women, it dropped slightly. We'll take a look at those numbers.
