Former Iowa state representative Wayne Ford organized the Iowa Brown and Black Presidential Forum, an event focusing on issues like crime, education, and the economy while giving presidential hopefuls the chance to speak directly to communities of color.
Ford, who co-founded the non-partisan organization behind the forum alongside Iowa-based Latina activist Mary Campos in 1984, joins me now.
