YouTube Description
as posted by the channelA federal appeals court ruled that R. Kelly received the appropriate sentence for his child sex convictions in Illinois.
In 2022, a Chicago jury convicted the Grammy Award-winning R&B singer on three charges of producing child sexual abuse images and three charges of enticing minors for sex.
The three-judge panel disagreed with Kelly's attorneys, who argued that Illinois' former and shorter statute of limitations on child sex crime prosecutions should have applied to his Chicago case, rather than the current law permitting charges while an accuser is still alive.
Kelly's attorney stated that she plans to take the case all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court.
