The video footage, shared on social media, shows a Los Angeles Police officer hitting 28-year-old Alexander Mitchell in the jaw during the arrest.
According to police reports, the incident unfolded Sunday during a traffic stop. Officers stopped Mitchell for having heavily tinted windows. When Mitchell was asked to exit and be handcuffed, the officer allegedly struck him.
Following the incident, Mitchell was taken to a hospital for medical clearance and later arrested for obstructing and resisting arrest.
The Los Angeles Police released a statement:
"The incident is under investigation, and the officer involved has been removed from field duties."
His family and activists call for legal action against the unidentified officer, advocating for accountability and justice.
