27:59Now PlayingOn February 7, in on an overpass between Evendale and Lincoln Heights, Ohio, a group of neo-Nazis hung a banner and flags.
Lincoln Heights is a historically Black community and when residents saw this, they took a stand against white supremacists.
The issue is how the police handled the situation. No arrests or citations were issued. Evendale officials hired a third-party team to evaluate their handling of the demonstration.
The Evendale police department released the bodycam video of 10 officers on scene.
Here's a nearly six-minute compilation of those videos.
Dr. Julian Cook, the pastor of the Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church, is leading a boycott against the city of Evendale and asking the police and leaders of Evendale the following:
- A full investigation, including all unedited footage from February 7.
- Support those affected by hate, including counseling of students who were traumatized by seeing the hateful demonstration
- A comprehensive plan for safety and accountability
- Accountability and respect, including Lincoln Heights residents' use of the Evendale public pool.
Pastor Cook and Hamilton County and Ohio Commissioner, Alicia Reece spoke with Roland Martin about the investigation into the police response to the neo-Nazi marchers
