Israel’s ongoing siege on Palestine has resulted in a man-made famine. People of all ages are starving because Israel is blocking aid and destroying critical infrastructure. Moms are too malnourished to produce breast milk and formula is exorbitantly expensive so even babies are succumbing to malnutrition and the situation is as dire as it gets.
None of this is accidental. A major part of the problem is that Israel controls all food and water in and near Palestine so people have been subject to insane price gouging.
Tariq Ra’ouf, a Palestinian writer, poet, and racial justice advocate joins Black Star Network contributors, Jamira Burley and Brea Baker to discuss the what we are witnessing in Gaza and how this unprecedented crisis in the Middle East began decades in the making.
